The SUNSUN HW-702B external filter is a high-performance solution for freshwater and saltwater aquariums with a capacity of up to 200 liters. The unit offers a flow rate of 1000 l/h, features a 3-stage filtration system, and includes an integrated 9 W UV-C lamp that helps eliminate algae, bacteria, and other unwanted microorganisms. The compact design, measuring 232 x 232 x 395 mm, allows the filter to be conveniently placed under or next to the aquarium, and the 360° swivel hose connections make it easy to adapt the setup to the available space.
Three-stage filtration for clean and healthy water
The HW-702B model uses three stages of filtration that effectively help maintain proper conditions in the aquarium. Mechanical filtration traps debris and suspended particles, biological filtration provides a large surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow, while chemical filtration allows for the use of additional media, such as activated carbon. The set includes filter cartridges comprising a filter sponge, filter floss, ceramic rings, and bio balls.
Built-in 9 W UV-C lamp
The filter’s most important feature is the integrated UV-C sterilizer, which irradiates the flowing water with UV radiation. This reduces the growth of algae, bacteria, and germs, helping to maintain clear water and a stable environment for the aquarium’s inhabitants. The UV lamp has a service life of 7,000 to 10,000 hours; to maintain full effectiveness, periodic replacement of the lamp and cleaning of the quartz sleeve are recommended.
Convenient operation and hassle-free maintenance
A large container with baskets equipped with practical handles allows for easy placement and replacement of filter media. The built-in manual pump facilitates initial startup and system venting. Additionally, the multifunctional valve with a quick-connect fitting allows hoses to be disconnected without draining the system, regulates flow, and prevents leaks.
Quiet operation and flexible installation
Despite its high performance, the filter operates relatively quietly, and the rubber feet effectively dampen vibrations. The ceramic impeller shaft ensures smooth operation and durability. The included 1.8 m hoses and the ability to rotate the connection ports 360° make it easy to adapt the filter to various aquarium configurations and installation locations.
