The device from Sonoff can serve as a universal gateway to control additional Zigbee devices with Home Assistant or other open-source platforms via ZHA or Zigbee 2MQTT. It supports pre-flashing with Z-Stack 3.x.0 coordinator software and has an external antenna with SMA interface.

You will use the Dongle Plus as a Zigbee 3.0 gateway on open-source platforms to manage other devices of different brands, or to flash your router's firmware to increase your network coverage. You can also additionally purchase a 1.5 m USB cable to extend the signal range.
